Apartment in Paris
The apartment in LISBON
The apartment is located in one of the most residential areas of the city of Lisbon, very central, with great ease of access and public transport as well as excellent services and shops, the district of Saldanha. This district is known for the quality of its habitat and the architecture of its buildings; mix of art nouveau buildings and modern construction. It is a safe area with lots of shops, cinema, restaurants, museums. The district of Saldanha, just minutes from the four corners of the city, is in the heart of Lisbon. From the apartment, you can walk everywhere in Lisbon and reach 4 metro stations in less than five minutes on foot. There is a direct metro from / to the airport. It is a neighborhood in which the charm of the old days meets the elegance and modernity of recent buildings. From here you can easily reach the trendiest neighborhoods of Lisbon to Chiado, Bairo Alto, Alfama, Mouraria, Sao Jorge Castle, neighborhoods.
Nearby.
The Edward VII Park, one of the great parks of Lisbon, in the extension of the Avenue of Liberty, in spite of its situation, is more associated with the New Avenues. The large 25-hectare lawn slope was opened at the beginning of the 20th century and was considered an extension of the Avenue de la Liberté. In the north-west corner of the park, where once stood an old basalt quarry, you can discover the “Estufa Fria” (The Cold Greenhouse), with a variety of exotic plants, small streams, waterfalls. water, palms and trails, fuchsias, flowering shrubs and banana trees. On the other hand, the “Estufa Quente” (La Serre Chaude) is home to lush plants, lakes and cacti as well as tropical birds. Next to the greenhouses, you will find a lake with big carp and a playground for children with a galleon. At the top of the Park, on the north side, the Monument for April 25 inaugurated in 1997, directed by João Cutileiro and subject of great polemics as to its form. Just behind is the Amália Rodrigues Garden, a tribute to the Portuguese Diva fado. The Lisbon Book Fair takes place every year in the central part of the park. At the top of the Garden, you will find El Corte Inglês, a Spanish shop for the most diverse purchases and with 14 cinemas. Going down towards Praça de Espanha, you can see the pretty Palhavã Palace, the current Spanish Embassy and opposite one of the cultural centers of Lisbon: the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation was created with the legacy of Calouste Gulbenkian who, at his death, left his property in the country in the form of a foundation. In addition to beautiful gardens, you can visit the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Ancient Art or attend one of the many dance, music and other arts shows.
When you go to Saldanha, you immediately understand that you are in a European capital. Multi-storey buildings, heavy traffic, students and workers in a hurry. Shops and brands from around the world, more sophisticated restaurants, shopping centers, among which the best known are undoubtedly the “Atrium Saldanha”, the “Saldanha Residence”, the “Dolce Vita” , the old “Monumental” and the oldest and smaller, the “Imaviz”. All these shopping centers were built thinking of the people, without the excesses of the supermarkets of the peripheries. In one of them, we even play music. For piano lovers, this helps them in their purchases. The “Saldanha” is characterized by its small touches of luxury and modernity. The Duque de Saldanha Square – a tribute to the Portuguese military, politician and statesman – is at the center of this metropolis district, which perfectly combines the city of Lisbon from the beginning of the 20th century with that of the 21st century. When it comes to transportation, you can not be better served: countless buses from the Carris transport company serve the entire city, the yellow metro line connects Odivelas to Rato and red São Sebastião to Alameda.

Location, location, location!! There is no noise in the apartment. What you see on the photos is what you get. It is nicely decorated, making the stay quite pleasant. The host was really attentive and maintained an open conversation.

The apartment is beautiful and very well appointed. It looks exactly like the photos, which is rare. It suited our family in every way (three adults and two children). Comfortable beds and a wonderful kitchen. The neighborhood is close to wonderful restaurants and was within walking distance to most of the sights people want to see. We would definitely recommend Rene’s apartment for a great experience in Paris!
September 2017
When we started looking for places to stay in Paris, we thought Rene’s place was one of the nicest looking apartments in the area and the actual apartment is exactly as breathtaking as the pictures. The beds are comfortable and the pull out was convenient for our guests who stayed the weekend as well. This apartment is far larger than I was expecting and they have an elevator so no need to carry luggage up 4 flights of stairs! The location of this apartment cannot be beat. We were no more than 2 miles away from everything we wanted to see and we walked almost everywhere. It’s also really easy to grab an uber or use the metro if you prefer. I thought it might be noisy considering we were in the middle of everything but we slept with the windows open and it was surprisingly quiet! I highly recommend this apartment. Rene was also great with checking in and Christophe let us check in early so we weren’t carrying our bags around the city when we first arrived.
